Korean Dinner at home!

Last Mother's Day, we had Korean dinner at home! We are a big family.  Eating out is not an option for us (12 adults, 15 kids and 6 yayas) especially during special occasions.

2 of our household helpers recently attended 25 Mushrooms' Korean Cooking class and we want to put their knowledge and skills to the test. Let's do this!

There's a lot of preparation needed for Korean cuisine.

Although they carefully followed the recipes, adjustments were still needed in the end. The Bibimbap looks very appetizing.  But when I was mixing it, I felt it lacks Gochu jang (chili paste) and Dashida (beef seasoning) so I added some more and cooked the Bibimbap to perfection -- yung may tutong!

The Beef Stew was cooked perfectly! Yum, yum, yum!

We bought a whole pack of Chapchae noodles from the Korean store.  Since it was just repacked, the weight wasn't indicated.  Unfortunately, our beloved cook prepared all the noodles in the pack.  The recipe just needed 500g and I think the pack was close to 2kg. I already set aside half of it but still the sauce wasn't enough to coat all the noodles.  Sarap pa rin naman daw.

We prepared 2 bulgogi dishes.  The chicken was for the kids and the spicy pork for the adults.  I did the final cooking for the spicy pork, I added more Gochu Jang and sesame oil. I made sure that the pork would have that appetizing glaze. I topped it with toasted sesame seeds.

The last one we cooked was the Pajeon.  All I can say is, "practice makes perfect."  The 1st was not picture-perfect. Here's our 2nd attempt. Then it gets better after.

I also bought this authentic homemade Kimchi from the Korean store.

It was a Korean Feast for us.  We even had the Beef Bulgogi on-the-spot-cooking!

Our Korean Feast was a great hit.  We had a "repeat performance" of the bibimbap, spicy pork bulgogi and chapchae (remember the excess cooked noodles) again today! I'm super full again.  Finishing this post because I still can't sleep.

  1. I have been surfing on-line greater than 3 hours nowadays, but I by no means found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It's beautiful value sufficient for me. In my view, if all webmasters and bloggers made just right content material as you did, the internet will likely be much more helpful than ever before. paypal login
