Aracama!

Working for a multi-national company means you will have regional visitors once in a while. Our Regional Marketing Director visited Manila to conduct a workshop and we brought her to Aracama for Dinner. I loved the interior of this restaurant - classic Filipino vibe!

We ordered some of their classic Filipino signature dishes.  Their menu is divided into: Firsts, Feasts, Forage and Finale.

Traffic was really bad from Manila to Fort.  It took us nearly 2 hours! We were so hungry. Good thing we pre-ordered the food. Started with these appetizers:
Nilasing na Hipon
Lumpiang Sisig
Insalata Uva
Malunggay Mozzarella Dip
Hands down! For me, the Malunggay Mozzarella Dip was the best - Superior nutritious Moringga leaves and spinach in a hot cheese dip, served with crostinis! Food was fast, they immediately served us the Main Course dishes (or maybe they knew we were really hungry). We felt we needed to order more so we ordered additional Gambas and Salpicao.

Inasal na Manok
Lengua Estofado
Lechon Carajay
Gambas Version 2.0
Salpicao de la Casa
I loved the Inasal, Lechon Carajay (crisp-fried pork belly in the style of Ilocano bagnet), Gambas (sauteed prawns, tomatoes, smoked paprika, chili flakes and green garlic chive oil) and Salpicao (melt-in-your-mouth 24-hour sous vide beef riblets). Yummy!!!

For desserts, we ordered Suman, Chocnut Ice Cream (not in photo) and Dulce Gatas and Bunuelos. I thought I was already full but I wasn't able to resist the super yummy Dulce Gatas! Woohoo!

Las Paellas Cafe BF Homes

Coming from a big family, we always have a couple of celebrants per month especially during the BER months.  For the month of October, there were 5 (including my 2nd son).  Due to the busy schedules, we decided to celebrate the birthday treat all at the same time.

Las Paellas transferred to its new location inside BF Homes few months ago. Parking was not a problem compared to their previous location.

Being a large group, we pre-ordered some of the dishes.

For starters, we had mushroom soup (for my baby niece) and these:
Mushroom Soup
Mozzarella Sticks
Oyster Rockefeller
Calamares
Among the 3 appetizers, the best for me was the Oyster Rockefeller - Fresh Oyster baked in Bechamel sauce topped with Mozzarella and Bacon! Yummy!

For main course, we ordered the following:
Pork Chop Andaluz
Grilled Salmon
Callos Madrilena
Beef Salpicao
Chorizo Sisig
Sizzling Bulalo Steak
I loved the Beef Salpicao.  My eldest son's favorite was the Chorizo Sisig.  He ordered another one! And for the pizza, we ordered 3 different flavors:
Pizza Margherita
Pizza Chorizo
Cheese Pizza
And of course, we ordered their best-selling Paellas! Loved the Valenciana and Negra!
Paella Valenciana

Paella Negra
Paella Marinera

We ordered Churros and cakes (no photos) for desserts!
